Hartley Pit Disaster 1862 – Remembered in Poetry

To commemorate 150 years since the disaster, Northern Voices Community Projects produced Still the Sea Rolls On – The Hartley Pit Calamity of 1862 with contributions of writing, drawings & photographs by local people. From this book, we recorded a selection of poetry which was recorded at the historic Mining Institute, Newcastle upon Tyne.
